Wetlands

Central West Region

Introduction

The central west region covers more than 30 per cent of the State spanning the Bogan, Castlereagh, Cudgegong, Macquarie, Belubula and Lachlan catchments.

The region contains a number of significant wetlands, including the Macquarie Marshes and the Great Cumbung Swamp. These and other wetlands in the region support major flora and fauna populations.
